To make AutoTempest better, you should...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

    Add the option to type in the vehicle make/model/year etc in addition to the current drop down menu for searching vehicles

  2. Add Craigslist specific search terms

    Craigslist listings for Ford F-series trucks often do not include the hyphen in the title (i.e. "F250" instead of "F-250"). I suggest adding the non-hyphenated version to the search terms to show all listings available.

  3. Add filter for title status or running condition so that wrecked cars are not offered along with running cars by dealers

    Filtering by title is now an option on AutoTempest.com. The filter can be found under the Advanced Search on our home page, and alongside the rest of the filters on our results page.

    We’re not currently hiring at this time but could be in the near future, keep an eye out for job posting from us!

  5. Better Search options

    You need to add an option, Clean Title, Rebuilt Title, or Salvage Title, so people can find what they are looking for more easily. I'm looking for a clean titled vehicle, yet there are tons of rebuilt & salvage vehicles I have to weed through, very frustrating. Also add an option for 4,5,6,8,10,12 cylinders etc... Also add Corvette options 1LT,2LT or 3LT, Jaguar F-type options S,R etc. Email Alerts also for saved searches and newly listed vehicles.

    We now have search filters on AutoTempest.com for Title and Cylinders, both can be found on the Advance Search section on the homepage search form and on with all the filters on the results page search form.

    Searching for the models/trim mentioned using the options Nathan mentioned previously is still your best options for searching for those.

  6. Ability to exclude some sites

    I was enjoying the site until just today when I started getting flooded with results from "BringATrailer". They don't appear to match my search criteria (e.g., got a Lamborghini when searching for SUVs) and are NOT helpful.

    You already can turn off individual sources, using the Sources control at the top of the results page.

    The issue with Bring a trailer in particular is that they don’t support most of our filters (including bodystyle). We’re going to look at hiding their results by default when unsupported filters are entered.

  10. Search by Type instead of Make/Model.

    I want a pickup truck. I don't care whether it's a Ford, Chevy, whatever. I also don't care whether it's a 1/2-ton, 3/4-ton, or 1-ton.

    Because we the SearchTempest “Combined Results” mode is powered by Google, we can’t currently filter by price. If you want to be able to filter by price, try using the “Direct Results” mode, which gives you all the search options natively available on craigslist.
