Interior Color for AutoTempest listings
Sellers are able to offer cars directly on AutoTempest like this one https://www.autotempest.com/details/vast--1629213745690845866. The seller specified the interior color ‘Light Cashmere/Medium Cashmere’.
In the normal search, on the left hand side, I have a list of interiors colors. None of those predefined colors matches, even not ‘Beige + Not Specified’.
‘Any’ works. Not going for a predefined color but manually entering the term ‘Cashmere’ works as well. However, that does not list all cars with beige interior. ‘Cashmere + Beige’ does not list any car, the same for ‘Cashmere + Tan’ or ‘Cashmere + Not specified’. Surprisingly, just entering ‘Tan’ manually works as well but does not list ‘Beige’. Again ‘Tan + Beige’ does not work at all.
As workaround, I do several searches.
Thanks for reporting. Looking into this now. While those listings are branded AutoTempest, they do come from a number of sources - basically anything that doesn't have a public website like cars.com, truecar, etc., goes under the AutoTempest brand. So it's still a matter of standardizing the info we get from them. We probably missed "Cashmere". Also though, it sounds like you uncovered a bug, since you should be able to search both a standard color and a custom one together and get results. Will get that sorted!

Yes, when using a custom color, please, do not AND but OR colors. However, I think there is a second issue: Took me some time to figure that I can use custom colors at all. Therefore, if a color does not fit *any* standard color, I would expect ‘Not specified’ to list such a car, for example ‘Beige + Not specified’ should have worked.
By the way, ‘Beige + Tan’—once ORed—seems to work, why ever. So no need to go for the very rare ‘Cashmere’. And yes, those interior colors are a drama. Personally, the options ‘dark’, ‘light’, and perhaps ‘colorful’ would be sufficient for me. Especially when it comes to ‘gray’, as there is *dark* gray which is very much same as black. And *light* gray which gives a similar user experience as beige, tan, and white interiors.
