We would definitely like to expand to other geos in the future, and the UK would probably be top of the list. Before that though, we have a number of improvements we want to make to the current site. (In particular, we’ve got some new filters to add, and our model matching isn’t as good as we’d like it to be yet.)
In the meantime, you could try using our other site, www.searchtempest.com. It will let you search craigslist and eBay worldwide. (Although it does use a google custom search rather than direct links to search craigslist outside North America, so it won’t always catch everything.)

Save individual results
It would be great to save interested cars in a workbook to compare and download.

report bad listings
There are too many vehicles listed as manual when they are in fact automatics. This is an extreme annoyance when searching for a manual as you must also go into the listing, instead of just through the search list, and look at pictures to confirm it is truly a manual. It would be a good idea to also request why the report of a bad listing is being made.
14 votesThat’s a good idea. I especially like the idea of flagging wrong transmission type or other wrong info, either for us to review, or maybe to filter automatically somehow (without allowing for abuse). We’ve got a few other things on the go for now, but will definitely keep this in mind.

Sort by savings on a car / pricing tool
sort by amount of savings. compare listing price with the national average price and display percentage saved by purchasing a given car. this way people looking for the best deal and not necessarily a particular car, could quickly sort through adds.
9 votesThis is not a bad idea! It could end up being more difficult than it’s worth, but we’ll look into it.

I'd Like to see a search by VIN feature where the results are all similar vehicles of the same year or a range of years.
Enter the VIN number in order to populate vehicles that are the same make model (trim and year can be set on a spectrum).

large automotive groups
Hey guys! Curious why your site doesn't hit the 10 largest automotive groups like Penske, Lithia, CarMax, Sonic etc?

Add filters for max seating capacity
Please add a filter for number of people the cars seat. With different SUVs with a 3rd row is not always straight fwd if it seats 7 or 8 people.
6 votesWe don't get this from most of our sources either, but it may eventually be possible using a combination of analyzing descriptions, parsing VINs, etc.

Add Offerup.com as a source
Or code your site to offer other newer or slightly less popular car listing site results if you still can't find the car you're looking for with the core listing sites. I know I've experienced that with AutoTempest and debated whether or not it was really worthwhile for me to keep using AT.

Add Carsforsale.com to the searched websites list
Carsforsale.com is a strong website for classic car enthusiasts and could draw in more usage of autotempest if you put it in. Love your website guys' website! Thanks!

Add filter for towing capacity
It would be great to have a filter for towing capacity to compare between vehicles and see what's the best option for towing.
3 votesTricky as we don't get this info from most of our sources, and it can vary based on trim, packages, etc. Will leave this here to gauge interest though.

"No Accidents" Filter
It's very frustrating looking for a clean titled vehicle only to click on an option, scroll down, and see the dreaded "Accident or Damage Reported".
These vehicles should have a filter to be completely hidden. Many of the results are coming from cars.com, and this website has a very distinct and obvious section where damage is reported.
3 votesYeah, that could be annoying for sure. Most accidents don't result in a totalled car or branded title, so if you're trying to filter out any car that's had an accident, that's not currently possible. Unfortunately we don't currently have access to that information from most sources. (The carfax information that appears on the Cars.com detail pages isn't included in the feed they send us.) I'll certainly keep this request open though; maybe we can get that added in the future.
In the meantime, if there are common phrases you're noticing in the vehicle descriptions that note there has been accident damage, you could filter those out with negative keywords or key phrases, using a minus sign followed by the word or phrase, like -"accident damage". But as I said, the specific section you mentioned that's provided by Carfax doesn't appear to be part of the vehicle description that we…

Search by number of seatbelts!
Please please please add a feature to search for vehicle by number of seatbelts. There are a lot of SUVs that make models with an optional third row and it is incredibly tedious to look at each listing.

Add buttons to save vehicle to 'watch list', or to ignore vehicle in searches
It would be nice when searching lots of cars in multiple searches to ignore certain cars, and to be able to review a car, and then save it for future consideration (maybe with a 7 day limit to keep the list fresh). This would be better than grabbing URLs and stuffing in Keep.
2 votesThis is definitely something that’s on our radar; we have some other priorities that are higher, since bookmarks or something like Keep does work for this, but we agree that a feature like you describe here would be helpful!
