  3. Be able to dismiss vehicles that are mislabeled or misrepresented so people don't have to keep moving through those in saved serches.

In a saved search, 60%-70% of the specific trim I'm looking for are misrepresented or mislabeled by the various sellers (dealers and private). It would be nice to be able to dismiss individual cars that pop up in the results so people don't have to sift through them every time. (i.e. Remove this listing from future search updates)

This is a feature we're considering, but it's going to be a bit, as we've got a few other things in the pipeline first. (At a minimum we'll need to have user accounts first, so there's somewhere to store the cars you've hidden.)

Regarding that specific search, please consider submitting a support ticket; maybe we can clean up the results.

  8. Interior Color for AutoTempest listings

Sellers are able to offer cars directly on AutoTempest like this one https://www.autotempest.com/details/vast--1629213745690845866. The seller specified the interior color ‘Light Cashmere/Medium Cashmere’.

In the normal search, on the left hand side, I have a list of interiors colors. None of those predefined colors matches, even not ‘Beige + Not Specified’.

‘Any’ works. Not going for a predefined color but manually entering the term ‘Cashmere’ works as well. However, that does not list all cars with beige interior. ‘Cashmere + Beige’ does not list any car, the same for ‘Cashmere + Tan’ or ‘Cashmere + Not specified’. Surprisingly, just entering…

Thanks for reporting. Looking into this now. While those listings are branded AutoTempest, they do come from a number of sources - basically anything that doesn't have a public website like cars.com, truecar, etc., goes under the AutoTempest brand. So it's still a matter of standardizing the info we get from them. We probably missed "Cashmere". Also though, it sounds like you uncovered a bug, since you should be able to search both a standard color and a custom one together and get results. Will get that sorted!

  11. Posted for longer than a year: Year missing

If a car is posted for several days, your webpage shows ‘Apr 3rd’ beside a small clock icon. Love that. However, if the car was posted last year in April, there is no mentioning of the year like ‘Apr 3rd '23’. Consequently, one does not know whether it was posted ‘Apr 3rd '24’ or ‘Apr 3rd '23’ or ‘Apr 3rd '22’ or …

Normally, cars are not posted that long, I know. Normally, you have several cars spread over several months making this obvious. However, I am just reporting, for example in this search https://www.autotempest.com/results?make=chevrolet&model=volt&localization=any&domesticonly=0&minyear=2013&maxyear=2013&exterior_color=gray&interior_color=beige only two cars get listed,…

  13. add ability to exclude brands and models from a search

I think a search feature that would be helpful when someone isn't searching for a make or model specifically but by option or make only, for example if you're looking for any 4x4 SUV but you know you don't want a Jeep product you can exclude that make.
or searching for any toyota suv except for the CH-R you could exclude it from the search.

That would be very helpful to have in the search filters. We're planning on adding multiple makes/model selection, this might be something that could be included alongside those. Keep an eye out for that feature in the future!

    Cheers,

    Brendan

  18. Ability to hold the CTRL button to select multiple options from the dropdown menus.

Currently when you select a color or other option from the dropdown menu the menu closes and you have to reopen it for each option you want to select. It would be much nicer & faster if we could hold the CTRL button down and the menus stay open so we can select multiple options quickly.

  19. Please Add "Made In" filter to search

I would like to see models there were made in Japan for example (VIN starting with J) and this can be easily achieved with a "Made In" filter.

Compare the starting letters of a VIN with the table in World manufacturer identifier and we can then search for cars that were manufactured in any country.

    Thank you!

  20. "No Accidents" Filter

It's very frustrating looking for a clean titled vehicle only to click on an option, scroll down, and see the dreaded "Accident or Damage Reported".

These vehicles should have a filter to be completely hidden. Many of the results are coming from cars.com, and this website has a very distinct and obvious section where damage is reported.

Yeah, that could be annoying for sure.  Most accidents don't result in a totalled car or branded title, so if you're trying to filter out any car that's had an accident, that's not currently possible.  Unfortunately we don't currently have access to that information from most sources.  (The carfax information that appears on the Cars.com detail pages isn't included in the feed they send us.)  I'll certainly keep this request open though; maybe we can get that added in the future.

In the meantime, if there are common phrases you're noticing in the vehicle descriptions that note there has been accident damage, you could filter those out with negative keywords or key phrases, using a minus sign followed by the word or phrase, like -"accident damage".  But as I said, the specific section you mentioned that's provided by Carfax doesn't appear to be part of the vehicle description that we…
