retain the sources list on refresh
When I pull up email search results and refresh the page to see the latest results of that search, the sources list randomly resets to different values, thus affecting the new search results. The selected sources do not appear to be saved with the rest of the settings in the saved search.
1 voteSo, what's happening here is, the list of sites to choose is a preference rather than part of the search. When you open the sites list and save your changes, those settings will be used for all future searches until you change it again. Except... if you saved an alert with a different set of sites than the one you're now using, and you pull up the results from that search, we will show all the sites that were saved to the alert, because otherwise you might not see the cars you were alerted on.
However, we didn't want to just override your setting, since that might not be expected. As you've pointed out though, that causes a different kind of unexpected behavior, in that next search (including if you refresh), it then reverts back to your saved site list. We will need to address that.
We'll dig into the…

make it easy to see all alerts registered to an email
After the recent server crash, I can't tell if many of my searches have gone quiet or were lost. You sent a list of active alerts after the incident, but many of my searches have inexplicably fallen silent. I have no idea which searches are still active. And because I customize the sources, that makes it very difficult to guess the exact parameters saved in a given search. If you embed a .csv of the search parameters in each email, I can figure it out from there. Or let me enter my email on the website and download a .csv…
1 voteYep, we're already working on adding the subscription list to every email! Should be done soon.

Increase the number of saved searches or add more options
I want to search for 12 cars (across six brands) in 30 zip codes. At three email addresses per car, I need 36 email addresses to cover my needs. I'm looking for my next OpenPilot car in areas with a low risk of corrosion due to salty air or harsh winter weather road treatments.
If I could click a checkbox for "OpenPilot compatible" and select multiple regions from a dropdown list, such as Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, South, Midwest, Upper Midwest, Plains, Southwest, Mountain West, PNW, and West, I could limit each search to one per brand and stay within the…
1 voteWe are considering increasing the number of alerts after we add user accounts to link them to (which we'll be focusing on after we finish the price trends tool we're working on now!)
We will also at some point be adding the ability to search multiple makes and models at once, though I'm not sure exactly where that fits on the timeline yet.
For now, I would recommend searching fewer individual zip codes, and instead picking one or two central ones and increasing the search radius to incorporate a larger area.

Filter by franchise vs. independent dealers
Hi! Thanks for making AutoTempest, it really is the best auto search platform right now. One feature I'd really love is the ability to filter dealer cars by franchised dealer (e.g. "Smith Honda") vs. independent dealers. This would be helpful for people like me who prefer buying from only dealers affiliated with a manufacturer -- they tend to hold their cars to a higher standard since the manufacturers name is on the line. Certain lenders -- Los Angeles Credit Union, for a real world example -- also provide discounts if the vehicle being purchased is from a franchised dealer, making…

Add engine HP to main summary
One of the main reasons CarGurus.com is the first place I go is the ability to see engine HP on the main summary. A number of vehicles will have the same engine size and cylinder count, but different tunes, or a turbo/supercharger that drastically changes the vehicles viability for use. Seeing this HP in the quick summary is wildly helpful.

Excel export with the cars details
I’d like the ability to export my search results to excel so that I can further sort and audit the best choices for the car I am looking for. Currently I am putting all of my data into an excel file right now to quantify which available car is the best deal. If this was an option from the website it would save me a ton of time.

Flag to exclude lot drives mechanic special
When sorting results with cheapest cars first, the top results are often honest ads for cars showing substantial crash damage or disclosing unfixed mechanical problems. Sellers are honest here; titles are not necessarily branded, salvage.
Ideally you would have a condition field like Amazon has for sales of used books (mint/good/fair/damaged/partial etc) but if you could simply brainstorm ten top keywords of "damage, collision, crash, flood, inoperable, lot drives, mechanics special..." and built the field and flag yourself that would be very helpful.1 vote -
Allow to search multiple car brands, or search all brands, BUT a certain brand.
For example I would like to search all manual cars in my area, but exclude Jeeps.
Or perhaps I would like to search all Electric cars under $50k but exclude Teslas.

Truck bed length search option 5-6', 6-7', 7-8'
It would be great if you could search by bed length in 3 categories.
1. 5' to 5',11"
2. 6' to 6',11"
3. 7' to 8'
I believe those 3 options would filter short bed and long bed variants correctly, at least within the same make and model structure.1 vote -
Be able to dismiss vehicles that are mislabeled or misrepresented so people don't have to keep moving through those in saved serches.
In a saved search, 60%-70% of the specific trim I'm looking for are misrepresented or mislabeled by the various sellers (dealers and private). It would be nice to be able to dismiss individual cars that pop up in the results so people don't have to sift through them every time. (i.e. Remove this listing from future search updates)
6 votesThis is a feature we're considering, but it's going to be a bit, as we've got a few other things in the pipeline first. (At a minimum we'll need to have user accounts first, so there's somewhere to store the cars you've hidden.)
Regarding that specific search, please consider submitting a support ticket; maybe we can clean up the results.

Please make the Front end in react or angular. So it will be fast and quick to search. The front end you can deploy on CDN/S3 for quick load
So I was browsing the website and it was loading too slowly. I believe it's because you get a million hits in a second. I think it is the right time to upgrade the technology to Angular or React JS so that you can deploy the app on S3 or CDN for quick load. and reduce the server cost. Also, you can deploy some common apis into lambda functions so that they serve within 10 ms.

Create a market map
Would love to see a market map. Number of cars within a distance kind of thing. More stats and nerdy stuff.
